"Many of my drawings come out of a 'dream-like' quality. I'm inwardly focused, reflecting about something, and the drawing accompanies my reflection. At other times, there is intentionality where I consciously choose colors, lines, directions. In some respects, my work reflects the way a child sees things - like cracks on a wall becoming a face, or clouds that look like animals.

Drawing is a joyful, meditative experience for me. I delight in the creative process, the unknown aspect of starting with nothing - no concept, no image before me - and just moving my pen to paper and seeing where it takes me. I want to delight, surprise, uplift the viewer, bring them to the same experience that I have when I'm creating the piece."
